How COVID-19 is affecting my education.

COVID-19 has spread out all over the world. Because of the current situation, we cannot go to University, so we take classes online. University life has changed. Usually, I studied and did some homework with my friends at University but I study and do homework by myself. Because of that, I miss face-to-face talk with my friends and teachers. Even we have a mock lesson, we use Zoom. It means we lost direct communication.

  1. I know how hard it is to take online courses alone. We’ve got a lot of homework and what is worse, we can’t meet our friends as you said. I miss talking with my friends including you… I realize how much I love to communicate with people in person. I hope our school life will get back normal as soon as possible.

  2. I do understand what you think about this situation. Honestly, I’m accustomed to taking classes via my computer and doing homework at home, however, I prefer normal classes, which are face to face classes. It is more helpful for me to get motivation for studying and it also encourages me a lot.
When it comes to the mock lesson, I do not like it is done online. I think doing it in a class has a big role for students to know the reaction or image of the real classroom situation.

  3. If anything doing classes online for a semester helps us to see how important the intangible features are of doing class in-person. There are many students who are having a hard time and the amount of stress this is producing must be difficult.

Further it’s probably having different effects on different people. So some people are probably doing okay and others are probably having a lot of trouble just managing to continue with school because they benefited from the social setting and its framing and supporting functions.

  4. It’s been a year since this post was posted, and many are still online. I’ve been looking forward to communicating with my new friends since I entered university, but I haven’t had much interaction yet. However, I heard that the face-to-face class may resume in a little while, so I would like to return to the original class as soon as possible.

  5. It’s been a year since I entered HUEA, but I am still influenced by COVID 19. There are a lot of assignment in class, so it’s hard every day. Most assignment are just writing my thought. If we had the original lesson, we would have feedback from my friends and teachers. I hope the day will come when everyone can learn and meet at class room.

  6. I was looking forward to see my new classmates and teachers or professors but the start of my university life was very awful. I came to Asahikawa from Sendai, miss my family but the classes were not face-to-face and I had many homework to do, I lose myself and ask myself “Why am I in Asahikawa?” and I felt very lonely because it was hard to make friends and meet friends.
